Working with Will Media , I had the honor to create an explainer video for MASE. The concept is based around the environmental impact of the fast fashion industry. The fashion industry has become a vicious cycle that generates disastrous consequences for people and ecosystems. Everyday there are more and more clothes and the demand continues to increase.
The ultimate goal laid down in the brief was to highlight the need to change our consumption and production models in order to achieve greater sustainability and minimize our impact on the Planet. To convey this message, I decided to rely on the use of cut-outs.
Cut-outs reflect the aesthetic of the collage technique and it gives back an idea of craftsmanship and handicraft. They are the imperfection that becomes a strength and a distinguishing feature. The use of cut-outs generates something new from fragments of materials from the past (newspapers, photographs, magazines) and restores value to something that already exists. In my view it ties in perfectly with the need to change the way we buy and produce.
